The Redemption Soul Experiment
A downloadable book
Furidian is at the forefront of technological advancement, depicting itself as a utopia within the war-scarred world that it calls home. However, it holds a very dark secret. For a homeless woman named Nekita, it is also her final resting place. At least it would be, if she was not forced to become an artificial intelligence for Flux Innovations, a company pulling strings tangled around the entire city. When a cyber-massacre takes place that kills hundreds, they pin it on her and plan to delete her, only for the generosity of a good samaritan to save her. Now she seeks answers as the very thing that this city despises: An android.
The Redemption Soul Experiment is a dive into transhumanism, rooted in an alternate post-conflict cyberpunk universe. It's a story that asks a lot of difficult questions, focusing on the life of Nekita and the allies she meets along the way. This tackles difficult topics, like gender and body dysphoria, mental health issues like suicidal ideation, anxiety, and depression, among other factors of neurodivergence. It also approaches problems in our reality, like transphobia, homelessness, and corruption.
This is the first book that I have ever written, and as such, I am looking for ways to improve for the next book in this series. It has taken nine years of world-building behind the scenes to bring this story to life. I sincerely hope you enjoy it.
> UPDATE: 4-14-24
After some careful thought, I have re-publicized this book for download. I originally planned on re-releasing it after making some revisions to the story that I was otherwise unsatisfied with, but progress on doing so has been slow. Bear in mind that the original version will always be available, and will be called the First Edition. Between this version and the...ahem, first "ReVision," I intend on expanding on some characters that I felt did not get much definition, as well as completely rewriting the conclusion.
Regardless on if you want to read the First Edition before the ReVision, both will be pay-what-you-want forever, and this will not change. Current owners of the First Edition can download the ReVision at no additional cost, and both versions will always be available, as will any other future changes to the story. The goal is to preserve the process as much as the material.
Thank you for your support in buying this book when it first released. Hopefully the new version will delight.
